Woodstock opened its football season on the road Saturday and came up short at Newport, N.H., 30-16.
The Wasps (0-1) visited the Tigers (1-0) for a 2 p.m. kickoff and finished on the wrong side of a 14-point gap in their first game of the year. It was a tough opening test across the river before Woodstock settles into a Division III slate at home and around Vermont.
Woodstock football is back in action Friday, Sept. 11, against North Country Union.
